Organised by Festivals Malta under artistic director Simon Schembri, this first edition brings international guitarists together across classical, jazz and Latin traditions. The opening concert is at Teatru Manoel on Thursday 10 September at 19:30, followed by a Jazz Guitar Workshop with Sandro Zerafa on Friday 11 September, 17:00-18:30, at the Malta Society of Arts, 219 Republic Street. Also on Friday 11 September, 20:00-22:30, Pjazza Teatru Rjal hosts "Yamandu Brasileiro – Encounters with the Latin Guitar", and the Final Symphonic Concert follows on Saturday 12 September at 21:00 with Quatuor Eclisses and a Spanish-inspired programme including Albeniz.
Tickets are sold per concert through Festivals Malta's "Get Tickets" links on festivals.mt and via ShowsHappening. Individual prices were not visible on the pages reached, and booking ahead is wise as Teatru Manoel is small.
The Pjazza Teatru Rjal concerts are open-air inside the ruined shell of the old Royal Opera House, a genuinely memorable setting, so bring a light layer for a late September evening. Teatru Manoel is smart-casual; nobody will mind an open collar. Note that third-party listings such as Songkick and Bandsintown place the Yamandu Costa concerts on slightly different date and venue combinations to the organiser's own page.
