The Valletta Guitar Festival is a Festivals Malta event running from 10 to 12 September 2026 in various locations across Valletta, under the artistic direction of Simon Schembri, bringing internationally acclaimed musicians together for three concerts celebrating the guitar across a variety of musical traditions.
This second evening, Encounters with the Latin Guitar, takes place on Friday 11 September 2026 at 20:00, featuring world-renowned guitarist Yamandu Costa. Costa is one of the great Brazilian seven-string players — virtuosic but very warm, and Teatru Manoel's 18th-century horseshoe auditorium is a small room, so book ahead and expect a smart-casual crowd.
Note that the venue is inconsistent between the organiser's pages: the Festivals Malta What's On listing shows the 11 September 20:00–22:30 slot at Teatru Manoel, while the festivals.mt homepage listing showed this concert at Pjazza Teatru Rjal. Guests should check the venue printed on the ticket.
